GDST Launches Public Consultation for Standard 2.0

The Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST) is launching a public consultation to seek stakeholder feedback on the revised GDST standard, which will remain open until 9th May 2026.
Reason for GDST Standard Update
In May 2025 the GDST Supervisory Board agreed to transition the GDST from a standard that focused solely on seafood at its’ core to a modular standard that enabled other commodities present within seafood supply chains to be included, primarily those commodities present in aquafeeds.

Public Consultation Timeline
Public consultation launched 11th March 2026
Closure of the stakeholder feedback period 9th May 2026,
GDST Technical Council incorporates feedback into a v2.0 of the GDST standard May 2026
Guidance documents and GDST Capability Test updated and tested June 2026
GDST version 2.0 launched 1st July 2026.
We greatly value stakeholder feedback in helping GDST develop the GDST standard so that it balances the needs of the practicalities of the global seafood industry and the needs of the technology solutions who will be providing GDST capable solutions based on the revised GDST standard
