DATASPIRA Inc. was founded in June 2024 in the Republic of Korea. We deliver digital cloud services and Digital Product Passport (DPP) solutions built on AI, GS1 Digital Link, and GS1 EPCIS standards. We provide our GS1-standard DPP services across multiple industries through our SaaS platform, SCAN4DATA.
Based in Busan, with a research center in Seoul, we work as the Korean partner of Auto-ID Labs and serve clients across a wide range of industries, including food, cosmetics, batteries, and apparel. Since our founding, we have completed a proof-of-concept project in the food sector and deployed our platform in the apparel industry.
Our unique advantage is that our platform is engineered entirely on GS1 standards from end to end. This framework operates as a standardized grammar, enabling data interoperability and communication with any organization or enterprise globally.
The SCAN4DATA Platform enables manufacturers and retailers to provide customized digital services and dynamic content on physical products, supporting digital product passports and circular economy ecosystems with unique IDs, like GS1 Digital Link. This solution has the opportunity to transform the food and beverage industry, ensuring quality, traceability, and informed choices for consumers.
Why GDST?
We became a GDST Solution Provider Partner in June 2026. We joined to align our SCAN4DATA platform with the recognized global standard for seafood traceability. Since the GDST Standard is built on GS1 EPCIS, joining was a natural extension of our existing architecture. Growing regulatory demand for supply chain transparency also made seafood a strategic sector for us.
Why Digital Seafood Traceability Matters
Traceability is the core function of our DPP solutions. Digital seafood traceability ensures supply chain transparency and regulatory compliance, including requirements such as the EU IUU Regulation and import control programs in major markets. It also allows us to expand our technological capabilities into a critical global industry.
How GDST helps to Address Challenges
We support the sector by offering SCAN4DATA to track and trace products using GS1 EPCIS standards. The GDST provides the specific data requirements and interoperability guidelines we need to apply these standards to the seafood industry.
Contributing to the GDST Standard
We contribute by integrating the GDST Standard directly into our commercial SaaS architecture. We also promote the adoption of these standards to our existing and future clients.
Impact of GDST on the Business
The GDST has provided a clear technical framework for our development roadmap. It has also guided our preparation for the GDST Capability Test.
Long-Term Goals
Our near-term milestone is to complete the GDST Capability Test and become a verified GDST-Capable solution. Long-term, we aim to establish SCAN4DATA as reliable traceability infrastructure for global seafood supply chains, starting with the Asian market. Success means our clients can meet any traceability requirement through a single standards-based platform.
Advice for Potential GDST Partners
Focus on interoperability from the beginning. Building on recognized standards like GS1 EPCIS prevents data silos and makes GDST compliance a natural outcome rather than an additional burden.
