Starfish has reached a significant milestone passing the GDST Capability Test, reflecting its continued work to support standardized, interoperable data exchange aligned with the GDST Standards—enabling traceability data to move seamlessly across systems and trading partners.
The work of the Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability helps bring much-needed alignment to a complex, global seafood supply chain. By establishing a common language for traceability, GDST makes it easier for companies to capture, share, and rely on consistent data across supply chain partners.
As regulatory expectations continue to evolve globally, the ability to exchange reliable, standardized traceability data across partners is becoming increasingly important—not just for compliance, but also for more efficient, transparent and resilient supply chains.
“Standards create the foundation, but interoperability is what brings them to life,” says Wiggs Civitillo, CEO of Starfish. “GDST is doing important work to align the industry, and our role is to ensure that data can move across systems in a way that supports real-world operations.”
At Starfish, we’re focused on supporting that broader ecosystem—connecting systems and partners so data can flow using open, standards-based approaches. As adoption of the GDST Standards continues to grow, achievements like this help move the industry closer to scalable, interoperable traceability.
