Does the GDST standard compete with the MSC chain of custody standard?

The GDST standard is complimentary to the MSC Chain of Custody Standard and in May 2024 the MSC and GDST released a joint statement which explains how that is the case.

Additionally, in April 2024 at the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona the MSC announced their Traceability Pilot Programme which aims to inform how the use of GDST KDEs and GDST capable software will allow the MSC to transition its chain of custody assurance to a fully digital process.
